Two people were found dead in separate incidents in two districts - Rangamati and Pirojpur, in two days.
KAPTAI, RANGAMATI: Police recovered the body of a beggar from Chandraghona Union in Kaptai Upazila of the district on Friday noon.
The deceased was identified as Shahidul Islam, 40, hailed from Noakhali District. He was a beggar by profession and had been living in a tin-shed room adjacent to Khan Shaheber Mazar in Chandraghona Union of the upazila for long.
Police sources said that locals spotted his body at his room at around 12 pm on Friday and informed the matter to police.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Rangamati Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The body bore no injury marks on its any part.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kaptai Police Station (PS) Abul Kalam confirmed the incident, adding that the actual reason behind his death would be known after getting the autopsy report and necessary steps would be taken in this regard.
PIROJPUR: Police recovered the body of a man from his residence in Sadar Upazila of the district on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Tapan Kumar Halder, 55, son of Satindranath Halder, a resident of Kathulia Village under Durgapur Union in the upazila. He was a farmer by profession.
It was known that local people spotted the body of Tapan Kumar tied up with hands and feet at his bedroom in the house at night and informed the matter to police.
Being informed, police have recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Police suspected that Tapan Kumar Halder might have been murdered over previous enmity.
Pirojpur Sadar PS OC Md Sahfiqul Islam confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are investigating the matter and trying to arrest those involved in killing of Tapan Kumar Halder.
