BNP Secretary General Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday urged BNP leaders and activists to provide full support to students' anti-discrimination movement. He said, the movement is "On the verge of victory".
Fakhrul said this after meeting with the family members of imprisoned BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury at his Banani residence.
He said, "The biggest success of this movement is that, it awakened the people against injustice. Victory of the people is inevitable, the students will definitely win."
Fakhrul said people from all walks of life joined the students' movement.
"Not only students but also parents, doctors, lawyers, artists, cultural activists, journalists and people from all professions have joined the movement," he said.
He said, "We supported the students' movement and their logical demands right from the beginning."
Fakhrul said, "We always said that the change in the country should be brought by the youth. We are very hopeful about this victory. No one will be able to defeat this movement."
He said, "The way the fascist Awami League government has killed hundreds of our children cannot be described in words."
Fakrul said, "Today all political prisoners are living in inhuman conditions, family members cannot meet them and cannot to send anything to them."
Law enforcement agencies arrested Nazrul Islam Khan and Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury from their homes on July 21, he said.
Fakrul met their family members on Saturday.
During the meeting with the family members of the two leaders, BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan and Secretary General's Personal Assistant Yunus Ali, accompanied Fakhrul.
