Bhairab Upazila Health Complex Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Bulbul Ahmed confirmed that Zahirullah was pierced by a spear and had died before arriving at the hospital.

The incident occurred in Mendipur Village, involving supporters of Sheikh Shafayet Ullah, an executive committee member of the upazila Awami League, and Tofazzal Hossain, a former vice-president of the upazila BNP.
