Poor students' presence prevails in schools, colleges at Kaptai

KAPTAI, RANGAMATI, Aug 9: All of the educational institutions in Kaptai Upazila of the district reopened, but students' presence is still very poor. 

Every schools and colleges were closed for indefinite period due to ongoing situation. 

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued an instruction to reopen all institutions from Tuesday last. 

Following the instruction, schools and colleges were opened, though the guardians are scared to send their children there.
 
While visiting various government and non-government educational institutions in Kaptai Upazila on Thursday, very little appearance of the students was seen. 

The heads of the institutions said, students are not coming to the schools due to fear arising from the ongoing anarchy. 

Head Teacher of Kaptai Power Development Board Secondary School Abdullah Al Mamun, Shaheed Shamsuddin Girls High School Head Md Hanif and Headmaster of BFIDC Government Model Primary School Md Yusuf Mia said that they opened the schools following the instructions given by the ISPR. But students' are not coming much. The guardians are scared to send them.
 
They further said that they expected the appearance of the students in the classrooms will increase from Sunday (August 11). 
Meanwhile, Principal of Sweden Polytechnic Institute Mohammad Abdul Matin Hawlader and Karnaphuli Government Degree College Principal AHM Belal Chowdhury also expressed the same hope that students will start attending classes from the beginning of the next week.  

However, there are one degree college, one vocational education institution, one school and college, 10 high schools, two Dakhil madrasas, six lower secondary schools, 56 primary schools and two Ebtedayee madrasas in Kaptai Upazila.
