IFIC Bank employees want Chairman Salman F Rahman to quit

Officers and employees demonstrated at IFIC Bank head office on Sunday demanding implementation of 9-point demand including resignation of the bank chairman Salman F Rahman, his son and all other directors of Beximco sitting on the bank's board of directors

They also demanded reinstatement of all dismissed officers, employees who were irregularly ousted during the time of former managing director (MD) Shah A Sarwar. About two hundred officers and employees participated in the protest at the bank's head office.

They alleged that bank's current chairman Salman F Rahman has looted thousands of crores of Taka from the bank helped by former MD and current advisor Shah A Sarwar. Shah A Sarwar fired many officers and employees blaming they were not mentally sound. 

The 9-point demand include all officers and employees who have been forced to resign due to mental stress should be reinstated immediately. 

Those who have already crossed the service age should be paid their dues with promotions and increments; 
The corrupt former MD Shah Alam Sarwar and his henchmen should be sacked and prosecuted; Officers who have not been promoted for a long time should be promoted to higher grade; Abolish performance bonus to pay annual profit bonus to every employee as per their basic salary.

Annual performance benefit should be determined according to Bangladesh Bank standards by repealing the current law; promotion should be given to meritorious candidates through written examination. At least one promotion should be given every five years.

Executives, officers or corrupt officials should be fired; Willful defaulters cannot get loan rescheduling and loan interest waiver. 

Arrangements should be made for quick recovery of default loans and the culture of fear among bank employees should be removed. The bank should be made independent service provider and staff-friendly.

Meanwhile, the underprivileged employees also protested at Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL). They are also demand reinstatement of dismissed in the past years.
