MEHERPUR, Aug 11: Rice and fish prices are increasing in the district. But compared to the last week, prices of vegetables did not increase in the district.
Vegetable consumers are getting relief as vegetables are arriving in markets hugely. The prices are also within purchasing capacities of common consumers.
A visit on Friday morning to the city's big kitchen market found adequate supply of various types of vegetables.
Prices of various vegetables remain unchanged except potato and onion. Potato price has been increased by Tk 5 per kilogram (kg) while onion price has been increased by Tk 10.
The rice price is constantly increasing. Per bag rice price has been increased from Tk 150 to 200.
But the rice price is increasing despite sufficient supply of rice in the market.
Over the last two weeks, prices of all types of fish have increased.
Sellers said, due to poor supply, the price of fish is high.
No price difference was noticed in spice and grocery market.
