A teenage boy was hacked to death by his two friends at Nabinagar upazila in Brahmanbaria district on Sunday night.
The incident happened at around 9:00 PM at Narayanpur village under Nabinagar municipality in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Rahim, 18, son of Ismail Miah, a resident of Narayanpur village under Nabinagar municipality in the upazila.
Ziaul Haque, maternal uncle's of Rahim, said that Rahim was taken a room by his two friends, named Sakil and Faruque, on Sunday night for a party. Then, they engaged in an altercation centering eating something. At one stage of altercation, Sakil and Faruque hacked Rahim with knives indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.
Locals detained the two friends and handed them over to the Bangladesh Army.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Mahbub Alam, officer-in-charge of Nabinagar Police Station.
Details will be known after investigation, the police official added.
