FULBARI, KURIGRAM, Aug 13: Now quota reform movement students have started repairing broken roads in Fulbari Upazila of the district.

Earlier, they started to carry out cleaning works, manage traffic and monitor bazaars to control price hike of essentials in the upazila.

Along with locals they are filling holes of different roads to make them fit for moving.

On Saturday (Aug 10) was the fourth day of their road repairing work. At noon they were seen dumping sand filled geo-bags at broken places of the heliport adjacent road in Sadar Upazila.

This road is used by people of 10/12 villages of Fulbari Sadar Union, erstwhile enclave of Dasiarchhara, and thousands of people of Kashipur Union use the road for going to the Sadar Upazila town.

Few days back heavy rain broke a major part of the road.

Since then different vehicles and pedestrians were moving on the road taking risks. Authorities concerned did not take any repairing measure.

At last, students took the repairing measures. Coordinator of Fulbari student movement Zakaria Hossain Badhan said, not only this road but also all important roads will be repaired in phase along with locals.

"Unless the roads are fit for communications, our repairing works will continue," he added.
