A Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader and his younger brother were hacked to death reportedly by AL men in the capital's Wari area on Wednesday.
The victims were Al Amin Bhuiyan, 41, joint general secretary of ward-41 BNP in Dhaka Metropolitan South and his younger brother Nurul Amin, 35.
Al Amin was found critically injured in the area this morning and rushed taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital by his relatives, where doctors later declared him dead. Later in the afternoon, the body of Nurul Amin was also brought to the hospital.
According to Al Amin's wife, Munmun Akter, her husband had purchased a flat in Hatkhola area in Wari which led to a dispute with several local leaders of Awami League (AL). She alleges that this dispute escalated, resulting in the brutal murder of Al Amin and his brother in the morning.
She further mentioned that there was an altercation took place between the victim and these AL leaders last night, which continued into the morning when the two brothers were attacked and killed.
