FENI, Aug 15: Students are working along with bazar monitoring team of the agriculture marketing department in the district.

They are striving in utmost activities for keeping prices of essential items within purchasing capacities of people.

A visit on Wednesday  noon found this combined monitoring team in shops of vegetables, fish, meat and chicken and grocery items in different kitchen markets in the district town.

During the monitoring, students checked vouchers of wholesale and retail prices of items in order to ensure fair prices of the daily essential commodities; they requested traders to hang price lists.

Their volunteering in the market monitoring was welcomed by general people.

Assistant Officer of the agricultural marketing company Abdul Quader said, "Along with students, we are monitoring to control prices of essential items and syndicate."

If any trader resorts to syndicating or trickery to charge higher price, tough action will be taken, the official added.
