Mother, two sons hacked dead in Panchagarh

PANCHAGARH, Aug 15: Miscreants have hacked a woman and her two sons to death in Atwari Upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The incident took place in Kurulia Village under Balrampur Union of the upazila at night.
The deceased were identified as Taslima Akter, 35, wife of cloth merchant at Boda Bazar Salim Sheikh, and their two sons Saikat, 12, and Saiham, 9, residents of Kurulia Village in Atwari Upazila.

Quoting locals, police said at around 11 pm, when Salim Sheikh returned home from his cloth shop, he found the blood-ridden bodies of his wife and two sons. Hearing hue and cry, neighbours rushed in and informed the matter to police and army.

Being informed, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Panchagarh Sadar Adhunik Hospital morgue for autopsies.

Police assumed that the trio might have been murdered due to internal enmity.
