A view-exchange meeting was held on Wednesday between the representatives of the Hindu community and police on various issues including maintaining communal harmony in Rangamati.
Superintendent of Police (SP) in Rangamati Mir Abu Tauhid presided over the meeting held at his office in the town in the morning.
The SP said strict measure will be taken against anyone who attacks the Hindu community and indulges in any anarchy, looting and arson anywhere. He also said that care will be taken to ensure that no one is subjected to any kind of harassment.
Additional SP (ASP) (Administration) Maruf Ahmed, ASP (DSB) Shah Newaz Raju, ASP (Crime) Shah Imran, ASP (Sadar Circle) Md. Saiful Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station Mohammad Ali, District Detective Branch of Police OC Manas Barua, Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Committee Rangamati Unit President Amlendu Hawladar, representatives of various temples and journalists, among others, were also present at that time.
