Police stations resume operation

All the 639 police stations across the country resumed operation on Thursday, said authorities.

Police Headquarters in a message said all the police stations have returned to regular activities.
All 110 police stations in the metropolitan cities are functional while 529 police stations in districts are also functional, it said.

Moreover, 24 police stations of Government Railway Police (GRP) have resumed their activities.

Services at most police stations were suspended after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's  government on August 5, amid mass upsurge.

After 10 days of looting from various police stations across the country, police have recovered 534 arms and 10,219 rounds of bullets.

Police headquarters confirmed the matter in a mobile SMS on Thursday.

In addition to this, 10,219 rounds of ammunitions, 359 tear gas canisters and 142 sound grenades were recovered during this time, it added.

Later, Home Affairs Adviser M Sakhawat Hossain ordered police personnel to return to their workplaces immediately.
