Load-shedding causes public sufferings at Kulaura

KULAURA, MOULVIBAZAR, Aug 16: Load-shedding has been continuing amid severe heat in Kulaura Upazila of the district for the last three days.

Along with heatwave across the country, the load-shedding is increasing in the upazila causing immense sufferings to public life.

According to sources at Electricity Supply Department, due to the hot weather, the electricity demand has increased; but the production of electricity didn't increase in proportion.

That is why the load-shedding has been higher in the upazila, the sources added.

Executive Engineer of Kulaura Power Department Md Shahdat Hossain said, at present, against the demand of 16 megawatt (MW), 9mw electricity is supplied daily.

The load-shedding is increasing along with less power production, the official added.
