KMP urged to ensure people’s security

KHULNA, Aug 16: Leaders of Islami  Andolan Bangladesh (IAB) here on Wednesday urged law-enforcement agencies to restore law and order situation stable to ensure people's security.

"Law and order situation was broken after fall of autocrat government, and common people as well as police are feared for their own security as vested group created vandalism, arson and looted people's property," they made the remarks while exchange views with Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) commissioner, high officials and officer-in-charge of all metro police stations at the KMP headquarters.
 
The Islami Andolan leaders said, most of police officials performed duties as 'Lathial Bahini' of the immediate past autocratic government, and dignity of police forces has been lost for this; police forces should work for the people's wellbeing. 

Reforming of police forces is must after fall of autocratic government, said the leaders, adding that the policemen who were performing duties as brokers of previous government must be withdrawn.
 
Lauding different activities including restoring traffic system by the IAM  men, KMP Commissioner Md Mozammel Haque said, police will work for the people's wellbeing and restore law and order situation.

City unit President of IAB Hafez Moulana Abdul Awal, Vice-presidents Sheikh Md Nasir Uddin and Abu Taher, and Joint Secretary Abu Galib, among others, spoke at the meeting.
