RADB gives Tk 170cr loan in Joypurhat

JOYPURHAT, Aug 16: Zonal office of Rajshahi Agriculture Development Bank (RADB) in the district gave loan of over Tk 170 crore among 8,960 farmers in financial year (FY) 2023-'24.

According to official sources, through 15 branches of the bank, a total of Tk 170, 62,00,000 was distributed in the agriculture and non-agriculture sectors during the period.
   
According to the zonal office sources, the agriculture sector included crops, fisheries, livestock resources, farms, and irrigation tools. 

It fixed Tk 160 crore loan for the fiscal year. But later on, it was increased by Tk 10,62,15,000. In percentage point of the loan, distribution rate is 107 per cent.

The agriculture and non-agri rural loan included Tk 42,36,33,000 among 5,262 recipients, fisheries Tk 8,82,20,000 (medium-term and current) among 158 farmers,  livestock (medium-term and current)  Tk  15,41,20,000 among 451, farm and irrigation tool Tk 1,10,000 to one,   poverty eradication/microcredit Tk 6,69,46,000 among 481, current agri-loan Tk 17,14,61,000, and non-agri loan (CMSME) Tk 68,11,64,000 among 1,454, and others Tk 11,78,61,000 among 795.

During the same period, the zonal office realised loan of Tk 193,1,81,000 against the target of Tk 165,48,77,000. 

Besides, the classified loan realisation amount is Tk 9,22,3,000. 

Zonal Manager-Joypurhat Zafar Ali Mallik said, in the 2023-24 financial year, huge successes were achieved in the district in the distribution of crop, livestock resources, poverty eradication, and current agri-loan.

At the same time, the zonal office earned Tk 7,60,14,000, he added.
