Separate units in public hospitals for injured

Separate specialized care units dedicated for the injured during the anti-discrimination student movement will be formed in all government hospitals in the country.

The decision was taken at a meeting between the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement and the authority concern of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in the capital on Saturday.

Sources said the decision was taken aiming to ensure better treatment for the injured persons.

It was decided that no one should enter the specialized departments of the hospital except doctors, nurses and legal representatives of the patients as many students and people have been injured seriously and they are undergoing treatment at those departments.

Many patients are suffering from injuries and someone may have risks during post-operation period at the hospital.

Additional Director General of DGHS Prog Dr Ahmedul Kabir, DMCH Director Brigadier General Md Asaduzzaman and coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah were present, among others.
