Sacked officers and employees of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the apex body of the country's business organizations have demanded reinstatement to their jobs on Saturday. They were forced to resign by FBCCI president Sheikh Fazle Fahim in 2020'

From a human chain in front of the apex body in the city they raised the demand and served a 72-hour ultimatum to the FBCCI calling for restoration of their jobs with seniority and past financial benefits.

Zakaria Al Mahmoud, coordinator of human chain said during 2020 when the country was suffering from unprecedented crisis due to corona pandemic the then FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim forced 62 officials to resign on the ground of factionalism. They also remained deprived of their due service benefits.

He further said many people with their families are living in inhuman life due to illegal dismissal and non-payment of due salaries. The sacked officers and employees have appealed to the Secretary and Director General of the Ministry of Commerce to resolve their problems.

They also appealed to FBCCI President to give them back their job. In 2022 demand notice was also served on FBCCI authorities through advocates. But no effective action was taken.

They have demanded their jobs, payment of due service benefits and other outstanding benefits.
