Three Rohingyas arrested with firearms at Ukhiya

UKHIYA, COX'S BAZAR, Aug 17: Members of Armed Police Battalion (APBn), in a drive, arrested three people along with firearms and ammunition from a Rohingya camp in Ukhiya Upazila of the district on Thursday night.

The arrested persons are: Md Rahim, 24, son of Md Siddique of Camp No. 7; Mohammad Nur, 27, son of Saber Ahmed of Camp No. 18; and Mohammad Fayez, 32, son of Mohammad Jafar of Camp No. 6 in Ukhiya. 

It was known that on information, a team of the APBn conducted a drive in Kutupalang Balurmath Police Camp area at around 11:30 pm, and detained the trio. 

The law enforcers also recovered two one-shooter guns, a locally-made revolver, three rounds of rifle bullets, four rounds of pistol bullets and three rounds of shotgun cartridge. 
  
14 APBn Commander Superintend of Police Md Arefin Juwel confirmed the matter.
