NARTORE, Aug 17: A group of students of the anti-discrimination movement arrested a fake eye doctor for working as a genuine doctor in Lalpur Upazila of the district on Thursday.
Later on, a mobile court sentenced him one month jail and fined him Tk 5,000.
The fake doctor was identified as Md Arifur Rahaman, a resident in the upazila.
The students caught him from a spectacle shop of a market in front of the girls high school in the upazila on the basis of a secret information and handed him over him to Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO).
The students informed that fake doctor Arifur Rahaman has been doing this practice illegally for long time, and he has earned a lot of money from the general people.
UNO Mehidi Hassan said, he came to know the matter through the students that a fake doctor was arrested; he sent police and a doctor to the incident place for justifying the matter; after asking, the fake doctor Arifur could not able to show any certificate concerning doctor or medical practice; so, he was jailed for one month and fined Tk 5,000 by forming a mobile court.
