Nur Nobi, coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Jagannath University (JNU) unit, has announced his resignation from the position. He confirmed this on Saturday through a Facebook post.

Despite stepping down as coordinator, Nur Novi indicated his intent to remain active in future movements as an ordinary student. He shared this decision through a post on his Facebook account.

Nur Nobi remarked, "As a coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, I have been deeply involved in all aspects of our efforts from the start. While our initial goals have been partially achieved, the vision of a fully discrimination-free Bangladesh, for which many martyrs sacrificed their lives, remains incomplete. I will continue to engage in any future Anti-Discrimination Movement as a general student in this new Bangladesh, Insha'Allah."

He further explained, "Today, I am resigning from my role as Coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. My involvement has always been driven by commitment rather than personal gain. I have endured brutal attacks by the Chhatra League, been abducted, subjected to severe torture, and imprisoned. Throughout these challenges, I have received overwhelming support from you all. I will remain committed to upholding the dignity of that support."

Earlier, on July 19, Nur Nobi was detained at the university gate in connection with leading the quota reform movement. He was subjected to extensive torture at the Detective Branch (DB) office and was released on August 6.
