The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has instructed all banks to freeze the accounts of Awami League advisory council member, central coordinator of 14-party alliance and spokesman Amir Hossain Amu.

At the same time, transactions of bank accounts of the business establishments owned by Amu's sons have been suspended.
To this end, the BFIU on Sunday sent a letter to all banks.

The BFIU under the Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (August 18) asked all the banks and financial institutions to freeze the accounts.

In its directives, the BFIU said all the transactions of the bank accounts of individuals and business accounts will remain suspended for the next 30 days. If necessary, the time-table may be raised.

The BFIU in its directive to the banks stated that Sections 2019's Money Laundering Prevention Act's section to stop transaction will be applicable.
