Hasina, 24 others sued over garment worker's death in Dhaka

Another murder case has been filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 24 others over the death of garment worker Md Sohel Rana in the city's Adabar area on August 5.

Mohammad Ibrahim, brother of Sohel Rana, submitted a petition with the Court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sultan Sohag Uddin to file the case on Tuesday morning. After recording the statement, the magistrate directed Adabar Police Station OC to register the complaint as a first information report (FIR).

Former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former DSCC mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh were among the accused.
According to the case statement, Sohel Rana, 18, was killed during indiscriminate firings of police members and Awami League supporters at Adabar area in the capital during the Quota Reform Movement.
