Sajek-Baghaihat submerged: Over 250 tourists stranded

More than 250 tourists have been stranded in Rangamati's Sajek as Machalong and Baghaihat of Sajek-Baghaihat road was submerged by water due to incessant rains.

Movement of vehicular were suspended.

Local people said by Tuesday noon, Kobakhali portion under Dighinala upazila of Khagrachhari-Sajek road went under water. As water submerged the only road of Sajek, the tourists got stranded there.
Khagrachhar-Sajek counter lineman Saikat Chakma said, "The low-lying areas of the district have been went under water due to continuous rainfall for the last fewe days. The movement of vehicles was suspended as the the water rises."

"The stranded tourists will be brought back after the water recedes from the road," said Baghaichhari UNO Shirin Akter.
