Dhaka-Ctg highway submerged in Cumilla

Incessant rains and landslides from upstream India have left the Dhaka-Chittagong highway submerged in water in Cumilla. 

In Chauddagram of Cumilla, the Chittagong-facing lane is knee-deep in water. It is disrupting traffic on the road.
The traffic jam started on Thursday morning and got longer as the day progressed. Vehicle drivers and common passengers have suffered due to this.

It was known that about two kilometers of road from Navagram road end of highway upazila to Chauddagram market has been submerged in water. Due to the sinking of the road, the movement of vehicles has slowed down. As a result, a five kilometer long traffic jam was created. Vehicle drivers and common passengers have suffered due to this.

Mia Bazar Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Lokman Hossain said that the movement of vehicles has slowed down due to water on the highway. Highway police are working to clear the traffic jam.
