Train services of Ctg, Feni, Cumilla suspended

The rail communication of Chattogram with other parts of the country has been suspended as the flood situation worsened.

The rail line from Feni to Fazilpur went under water and after 12noon on Thursday, the train services of Chattogram with Cumilla has been suspended following damage of Cumilla rail line.

Earlier three trains left Chattogram for Dhaka and Sylhet, but later the Sylhet-bound train returned back as the rail line was submerged by water.
Meanwhile, Saiful Islam, manager of Railway East Zone Division (Chattogram), said "Some rail lines in Feni and Cumilla went under water. So, we decided to keep the trains moving on those districts."

According to the control room of the Bangladesh Railway (Ctg Division), stones and soil have been washed away from the tracks.
A total of 43 upazilas of Cumilla, Feni, Chattogram, Khagrachhari, Noakhali and Moulvibazar were submerged by the water due to heavy rainfall and onrush of water from upstream India.
