Man hacked dead by daughter-in-law

A man was hacked to death by his daughter-in-law at Bhandaria upazila in Pirojpur district on Wednesday evening over a family dispute.

The incident happened at Betagi-Singholi village in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Bidhan Chandra Roy, 50, a resident of the area.
Police arrested Kobita Roy, 19, daughter-in-law of Bidhan Chandra Roy, in a connection with the incident.

Family members said that Kobita Roy hacked Bidhan Chandra's neck several time in the evening, leaving him dead on the spot. 

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to a Pirojpur hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Md Solaiman, officer-in-charge of Bhandaria Police Station. 

A case has been filed against Kobita Roy in the incident.
