Vandalism, arson case filed against KCC mayor, 74 other AL leaders

KHULNA, Aug 22:  A case was filed against 75 Awami League (AL) leaders and activists, including former KCC mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque, former parliament members - Begum Monnujan Sufian and SM Kamal Hossain, on charge of vandalism, arson and looting of BNP office.

Officer-in-Charge of Khalishpur Police Station Md Anwar Hossain said that joint convener of Ward No-7 unit BNP Ilias Hossain as a plaintiff filed the case with the police station on Wednesday against 75 named and 50 to 60 unnamed AL leaders and activists.
According to the case statement, over 100 activists of AL, Juba League, BCL and Swechchasebak League led by Khaleque, Monnujan and Kamal, vandalized, looted and set fire to the BNP's office recently.
