Deprived contractors demand to be met Says R&H Chief Engineer

Chief Engineer of Roads and Highways Department Syed Moinul Hasan held a meeting with deprived contractors on Wednesday night. 

He assured them that their eight-point demand would be met. Following assurance of the chief 
Engineer the contractor withdrew their programme.
On Sunday, a committee of deprived contractors gave a memorandum to the Chief Engineer.

According to the demands, bribery and corruption of some officers and employees of the Roads and Highways Department should be stopped and some corrupt officers and employees should be removed.
 
The fallen Awami League government's decision to illegally disqualify experienced contractors for giving unethical benefits to contractors close to them must be overturned. Procurement circle superintendent engineer Md Abul Kalam Azad must be removed. 

Recruitments  should be on the basis of merit, discriminations in employment by party in power or corruption must be removed. 

Contracts awarded by relaxing conditions should be cancelled, because there was no competition in awarding contracts for which the government incurred losses. 

Tenders invited by flouting conditions must be suspended on urgent basis, no tender can be invited by violating  conditions.
