Rabindra University VC Shah Azam resigns

Published : Friday, 23 August, 2024 at 4:54 PM  Count : 1196

Professor Dr. Md Shah Azam, vice-chancellor of Rabindra University, has been resigned from his position amid the students movement.

He sent his resignation letter to the President via e-mail on Thursday afternoon citing his personal  and family reasons.

Professor Dr. Feroz Ahmed, treasurer of Rabindra University, confirmed the matter.

General students of the university had been showing their demonstration demanding VC's resignation for the last three days. On Thursday afternoon, they locked the main gate of administration building of the university and started hunger strike to full fill their demand.

Students claimed that the VC was busy to serve the government purpose during the latest Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

In spite of several attempts, we cannot contact with Professor Dr. Md Shah Azam to take his remark in this matter.
