The home ministry has called on Ansar members demonstrating on the street for regularisation of their job to return to their workplaces, noting that some of their demands are reasonable.

"A logical solution will be reached after reviewing the report from the committee led by the director general of Ansar and Village Defence Party, or, VDP, along with representatives of the protesting Ansar members," said the ministry in a press release on Saturday afternoon.
It also warned that a "few instigators" are attempting to create disorder within the disciplined force, and the government will not hesitate to take legal action if necessary.

The home ministry further said the Chief Adviser has been informed about the demands of the Ansar members, which the government has reviewed with "great attention and sympathy".

Initially, some of the demands have been found justified. As a result, it has been decided not to make any new appointments for general Ansar members at this time. The policy on extending service without the usual three-year rest period will also be reviewed.

The committee will submit its report with recommendations within seven working days.

An inter-ministerial committee will then assess these recommendations and devise an implementation strategy before presenting the final report to the government for further action.
