Salman F Rahman, private industry affairs adviser to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former law minister Anisul Huq, and former top army official Maj Gen Ziaul Ahsan were placed on a five-day remand in second phase in another murder case filed over the death of Ideal College student Khaled Saifullah.
The same court placed former social welfare minister Dipu Moni on a four-day remand again in another case filed over the killing of Sumon Sikder of Badda Police Station.
Former chief whip of the Jatiya Sangsad, ASM Feroz, was also placed on a seven-day remand by the same court on Saturday in a murder case filed over the death of Sohagh Mia, an adolescent of Bhatara area.
The hearing on the cases was completed at Dhaka CMM court at 8.30pm .
The matter was confirmed by the Dhaka Court GRO Md Selim Khan to the Daily Observer at 8.40 pm
Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jashim passed the order after Lalbagh, Badda and Bhatara police produced Salman, Anisul, Ahsan, Dipu and Feroz before court seeking a 10-day remand for each for questioning.
The defence also sought bail along with cancellation of the remand appeal.
Earlier on August 14 another Dhaka court placed Salman, Anisul on a 10-day remand each in a murder case filed at New Market police station in the capital.
