A young man reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself at Rajarhat upazila in
Kurigram district on Saturday night.
The incident happened at Ghumaru Vimsitola Vatipara village under Umarmozid union in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Nur Nabi, 20, son of Ishob Ali, a resident of the area.
It was learnt that Nur Nabi hanged himself with a branch of mango tree near his house. Later, family members found his hanging body and informed the police
On information, police recovered the body and handed it over to the family members, said Mustafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Rajarhat Police Station.
An unnatural death case was filed in this regard with the police station, the OC added.
However family members claimed Nur Nabi had been suffering from mental illness for a long time.
