2 brothers hacked dead in Barishal

A local Awami League leader and his cousin were hacked to death by miscreants at Wazirpur upazila in Barishal district over a previous dispute, related to establishing supremacy, on Saturday night.

The incident happened around 10:00 PM in Satla bridge area near Satla Bazar in the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Idris Hawlader, a local Awami League leader, and his cousin Sagor Hawlader. 

Locals said that Idris Ali along with his cousin were returning home from his business institution on a motorcycle. When they arrived near Satla Bridge, some miscreants stopped their vehicle. The miscreants then hacked them indiscriminately, leaving them in critical condition. 

Locals rescued them and took them to Agailjhara Upazila Health Complex. They were later referred to Barishal Sher-E-Bangla Medical College where Idris Howladar succumed to his injuries that night.

Sagor Howlader died around 9:30 AM on Sunday while undergoing treatment at the hospital. 

On information, police have been sent to the spot, said Md Zafor Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Wazirpur Police Station. 

 "The bodies have been kept in the hospital morgue." the OC added.

Efforts are ongoing to identifiy the culpirts involved in this incident, the OC further added.
