Dear Sir
In a groundbreaking achievement, Bangladesh secured their first-ever Test victory against Pakistan on the fifth day of the opening Test in Rawalpindi. Chasing a modest target of 30 runs, Bangladesh reached their goal in just 6.3 overs, with openers Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam remaining unbeaten at 15 and 9, respectively.
The final day witnessed a dramatic shift in momentum. Pakistan, having lost Saim Ayub to Shoriful Islam on the fourth day, succumbed to Bangladesh's spin attack. The hosts' batting lineup faltered under pressure, losing five key players in 26 overs and trailing by nine runs with only four wickets left.
Although Pakistan seemed stable at 65 for 2, their innings collapsed following Babar Azam's dismissal for 22. Babar's earlier escape, when Litton Das missed a diving catch, did not prevent the collapse. Saud Shakeel and Agha Salman fell without scoring. Bangladesh's spinners, Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, dismantled Pakistan's batting, dismissing Abdullah Shafique, Shakeel, and Salman. Despite Mohammad Rizwan's valiant half-century, Pakistan's total proved insufficient.
Mehidy also removed Shaheen Afridi for 2, and Shakib dismissed Naseem Shah for 3. This historic win highlights Bangladesh's growing prowess on the international stage.
