A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a truck at Kalihati upazila in Tangain district on Monday.
The accident took place around 8:30 AM in Jokarchar area on the Dhaka-Tangail highway in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Sajedul Islam, 45, son of Atatullah Fakir, hailed from Shahapur area under Ishwardi upazila in Pabna district.
Locals said that Sajedul was going to Ishwardi upazila from Gazipur riding a motorcycle. On the way, a bus hit the motorbike in the area and the motorbike fell on the highway.
At that time, a truck ran over the motorcycle from behind. leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body from the spot, said Nazmul Islam, sub-inspector (SI) of Highway East Police Station.
The body will be handed over to the family members after completing legal procedure, the SI added.
