Rahmani, who is a convicted criminal in the blogger Rajib Haider murder case, was released from jail at around 11:15AM on Monday, said Deputy Jailor of Kashimpur High Security Central Jail, Rezaul Karim.
Mufti Jasimuddin Rahmani was arrested from Barguna on August 12, 2013. In Rajib murder case, a Dhaka court sentenced him to five years in prison.
In addition to the case, Rahmani faced a total of four cases, including those under anti-terrorism and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) laws.
The deputy jailor said that Rahmani was granted bail in a case filed under the anti-terrorism act with Uttara West police station filed on February 6, 2008.
He was granted bail in the case on Sunday.
Other cases against him have been withdrawn. After verifying the bail documents, he was released, the deputy jailor said.
