3 minors drown in Cumilla, Patuakhali

Three minor children drowned in separate incidents in two districts - Cumilla and Patuakhali, in two days.

CUMILLA: Two minor girls drowned in the floodwater in Titas Upazila of the district on Sunday morning.
The incident took place in Baghairampur Village under Jiarkandi Union of the upazila at around 10 am.

The deceased were identified as Samia Akter, 10, daughter of Muktar Hossain, and Ayesha Akter, 8, daughter of Monir Hossain. Both of them were residents of Baghairampur Village.

According to local sources, Samia and Ayesha went missing while playing on a flooded road in the area in the morning. Later on, a team of Daudkandi Fire Service came to the scene and rescued the two.

The Fire Service personnel then rushed the minor girls to Titas Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared the duo dead.

DASHMINA, PATUAKHALI: A minor boy drowned in a pond in Dashmina Upazila of the district on Saturday noon.

The incident took place in Golkhali area of Katakhali Village under Dashmina Sadar Union at around 1:30 pm.  
 
The deceased was identified as Limon Mnahmud, 3, son of Imon Moholladar, a resident of Sadar Road area in the upazila town.
 
It was known that Limon along with his parents had come to his grandfather's house in Katakhali Village under Dashmina Sadar Union. 

On Saturday noon, Limon fell in a pond near his grandfather's house, and drowned there. After noticing his absence, the family members started to search him and found him in the pond. 

Later on, he was rescued and taken to Dashmina Upazila Health Complex, where on-duty doctor HM Alvi Ahmed declared him dead.
