2 brothers electrocuted in Chandpur

Two brothers died from electrocution in Matlab Uttar upazila of Chandpur district on Monday night.

The deceased were identified as Rajib, 26 and Rubel, 23, sons of Chan Mia from the same village.

Locals said around 8 PM, one of the brothers came in contact with a live electric wire attached to their collapsible gate while getting out from their house. Another brother was also electrocuted while trying to rescue him.

Later, they were taken to Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.

Alamgir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Matlab Uttar Police Station, confirmed the incident. 

He said that no case has been filed regarding the incident.
