Travel ban imposed on Harun, his wife by court

A Dhaka court on Tuesday imposed a travel ban on former DMP Detective Branch (DB) chief Harun-or Rashid and his wife Shireen Akter.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Ash-Shams Jaglul Hossain issued the order following a petition from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), ACC public prosecutor Mahamud Hossain Jahangir said.
In its petition, the ACC mentioned that the anti-graft watchdog has been investigating accumulation of wealth worth crore of taka through various irregularities and corruption.
The ACC learnt that he was trying to leave the country along with his family.
