Youth injured during student protests dies at CMH

A youth, who sustained bullet injuries during the anti-discrimination student movement, succumbed his injuries at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka on Tuesday night.

The youth Sohan Shah, 27, a garment worker, was shot in the Rampura area on July 19 afternoon.

According to the deceased’s father, Shah Sekandar Ali, Sohan lived in a house on DIT road in Rampura’s Hazipara, and worked at a garment factory at Rampura. He was shot during a clash with the police.

He was taken to the National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital, later was shifted to the CMH on August 23, where he breathed his last at around 7:30pm, said Sekandar.
Cantonment police sub-inspector Muhammad Shahjahan said that Sohan’s body was handed over to his family after a postmortem examination at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Wednesday.
