A teenage boy was killed after a bus hit a three wheeler (locally known as Mahendra) at Goalanda upazila in Rahbari district on Thursday.
The accident happened at 12:00 noon in front of Bangladesh Hatchery on the Doulatdia-Khulna highway in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Sizan Sheikh, 16, son of Mofiz Sheikh, a resident of Zanuki Roy Para under Uzanchar union in the upazila.
It was learnt that a JR paribohon bus coming from Kushtia hit the three wheeler in the area, leaving three wheeler passenger Sizan critically injured.
Fire Service personnel rescued him and took him to Goalanda Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Abdul Halim, officer-in-charge of Ahladi Pur Highway Police Station, said the bus was seized from the scene although its driver managed to flee.
The body was handed over to the family members, the police official added.
