PARBATIPUR, DINAJPUR, Aug 29: A teenage boy was crushed under a train in Parbatipur Upazila of the district recently.
The accident took place in Thermal Power Plant Residential Gate area on the Parbatipur-Fulbari railway line in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Abdullah al Fahim, 17, son of Masum, a resident of Rajarampur Fakir Para village under Shibnagar union in the upazila. She was a tenth grader at a local school.
It was known that Chilahati-bound Nilsagar Express train coming from Dhaka crushed Fahim in Thermal Power Plant Residential Gate area on Saturday evening, which left him dead on the spot.
Earlier, Fahim had got out of his house at around 10 am to go to school, but did not return to home.
Ziur Rahman, uncle of the deceased, said that Fahim had been suffering from mental illness for long.
On information, police recovered the body and handed it over to the family members without an autopsy upon their request.
Officer-in-Charge of Parbatipur Railway Police Station Sakiul Azam confirmed the incident.
