A six-year-old child was allegedly raped by her neighbor at Kaptai upazila in Rangamati district on Friday afternoon.
The incident happened at Kargo Down Side area at Ward No 5 under 4 No Kaptai union in the upazila.
The accused rapist is Manik, 28, a resident of the area.
It was learnt that Manik took the girl of his house and violated her forcefully as the house was vacant.
Later, the victim was recovered and taken to Kaptai Upazila Health Complex, from where she was referred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital around 5:30 PM.
The victim's mother claimed that the rapist threatened her for not to file a case in the incident.
Abul Kalam, officer-in-charge of Kaptai Police Station, said that police have been sent to the spot.
Legal procedures would be taken on the basis of investigation, the OC added.
