Bangladesh would seek the relevant information about the flood forecasting data from upstream countries, including China, India, Nepal, and Bhutan, said water resources adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan.

She said that the present government will continue bilateral discussions and communications with these countries in this regard.

The advisor made these remarks while presiding over a meeting held to review the activities of departments under the Ministry of Water Resources on Saturday at the conference room of Pani Bhaban in the capital.
She said efforts will also be made to provide timely flood forecasts to the public in simple language.

Rizwana mentioned that public hearings would be held in Feni and Comilla districts recently affected by floods, and the future course of actions will be decided based on public feedback.

All obstacles to ensuring the natural flow of rivers must be removed. The advisor also directed the relevant authorities to take action against all illegal encroachments, including fish enclosure areas in the Feni River.
