Child dies from snakebite at Sitakunda

SITAKUNDA, CHATTOGRAM, Aug 31: A minor child died after being bitten by a venomous snake in Sitakunda Upazila of the district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Arabi, 2, son of Altaf, a resident of Mohanagar area under Syedpur Union in the upazila.
Local sources said Arabi was bitten by a venomous snake while he was playing at home, which left him critically injured. 

Later on, the family members quickly took him to Sitakunda Upazila Health Complex first, and then shifted him to Faujdarhat BITID Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared the boy dead.
