Acting Chairman of BNP, Tarique Rahman said on Sunday the people are ready to extend all cooperation to the interim government to reform state machinery to build a representative country.
In a video message on the 46th founding anniversary of BNP he said, "I want say clearly to all of my leaders and activists, never try to use power and spread fear among the people. We should win the people's hearts with justice and kindness."
Tarique Rahman said, "BNP believes that we have no alternative but to build a prosperous Bangladesh with positive political reforms. The people also believe that sustainable reforms can be carried out by an elected government."
Tarique said, "Autocrat Hasina has fled after destroying politics, education, culture, economy, public administration, judiciary and other institutions of the country."
"Some of her ministers, some MPs, even the Khatib of Baitul Mukarram Mosque have fled. After such an unprecedented reign of terror, the people want to forge ahead on the path of prosperity," he said.
Tarique said that, BNP believes that at the same time we have to reform our political party. That is why in 2023 BNP adopted political reform programme.
BNP also took a 31-point roadmap to develop an inclusive, non-discriminatory and harmonious administration.
"We want to reintroduce election-time neutral caretaker government, independent judiciary, bicameralism. We will amend the constitution so that no one can be prime minister more than twice and will amend Article 70 of the constitution.
Tarique Rahman said, "Ganabhaban has become a symbol of autocrat Hasina's misrule, injustice and misdeeds.
Already there have been calls to turn Ganabhaban into a museum of enforced disappearances, murders, abduction and massacre. We will do it."
Tarique Rahman called upon his party leaders and activists to provide relief to the flood victims, not to go for rvenge, not to take the law in their own hands.
