A tourist went missing after getting into the sea for bathing at Cox's Bazar on Wednesday (September 4).

Lifeguard workers also rescued four tourists alive when they were being swept away by tides in the sea.
The incident happened at Seagull Point of Cox's Bazar sea beach early Wednesday (September 4) afternoon.

The missing tourist is Mohammad Sajib. The 26-year-old is the son of Kazi Jahangir Hossain of Road 11-D under Pallabi Police Station in Dhaka.

Cox's Bazar district administration's tourism cell's executive magistrate Md Tanveer Hossain said Mohammad Sajib arrived along with family members and friends in the morning. They got into the seat at Seagull Point in the early afternoon. At one stage, five of them were swept away by the tides. Hearing the shouts of the relatives, lifeguard workers rushed toward them. Though they succeeded to rescue three of the tourists instantly, two were being swept away.

He said later the lifeguard workers managed to rescue one of them, but the other was swept away by the tides. He could not be traced despite conducting searches at different points of the sea.

Apart from the lifeguard workers, beach workers and tourist police personnel have been conducting searches to rescue the missing tourist.
