One held with liquor in Bagerhat

Police arrested a drug peddler along with foreign liquors from Mogla upazila under Bagerhat district on Wednesday night.

The arrested man is Abdur Rahim, 55, a resident of Masrasa road area at in Mongla municipality.

According to police, acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a raid at Shamsur Rahman road area in the municipalty and arrested Abdur Rahim from a house. At that time, police recovered 29 bottles of foreign liquors from his possession.

He was sent to jail through a court on Thursday morning after filing a case against him under the Narcotics Control Act, said K M Azizul Islam, officer-in-charge of Mongla Police Station.
