A Dhaka court on Thursday ordered to give 1.67 kilogram of gold ornaments (chains, bangles and rings ) of Jobaida Rahman wife of BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman, her sister Shahina Khan and mother Iqbal Mund Banu from the deposit of Standard Chartered Bangladesh bank, Dhanamondi branch for 17 years.
After hearing Metropolitan Magistrate Md Saddam Hossain passed the order following a petition submitted by Shahina Khan's lawyer Advocate Zakir Hossain Bhuiyan.
In 2007, a Dhaka court ordered to seize the ornaments owned by Jobaida Rahman, her sister Shahina Khan and mother Iqbal Mund Banu and ordered to keep it with the Standard Chartered Bangladesh bank Dhanamondi branch following a GD filed by Dhanmondi police.
According to lawyer Advocate Zakir Hossain Bhuiyan, there was two lockers in Standard Chartered Bangladesh bank, Dhanamondi branch owned by Jobaida Rahman, her sister Shahina Khan and mother Iqbal Mund Banu and those ornaments was kept in two lockers.
